Kevin Nordt is Dairyland Power’s Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer. He is responsible for the strategic leadership of Dairyland’s Corporate Strategy & Analysis Division. This includes exploration of nuclear small modular reactors (SMRs) and the development of natural gas fuel strategies as Dairyland prepares for the Nemadji Trail Energy Center to be in service.
Under his leadership, he will ensure Dairyland’s strategic and sustainability goals are met or exceeded during the energy transition, in alignment with safety, environmental, reliability, regulatory and budgetary requirements.
Nordt joined Dairyland in November 2023 as Chief Strategy Officer and was promoted to EVP & CSO in May 2024. He most recently worked at Grand County Public Utility District in Ephrata, Wash., where he held the roles of Chief Resource Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Director, Power Management. Nordt has completed graduate study in mathematics and computational finance, and executive level utility course certifications. He earned a master's degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Wisconsin and holds a bachelor's degree in mathematical physics from St. John's University. An advocate for community service, Nordt has volunteered with youth academics, college mentor programs and as a Cub Scout leader. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, hiking and jazz music.
