Kathleen GaliotoIn January 2024, Kathleen Galioto was promoted to Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. In her role, she leads Dairyland’s legal and records teams.

Galioto joined Dairyland as the Deputy Director of Legal Services in February 2022, bringing more than 21 years of public and private sector legal experience to the cooperative. She was promoted to Deputy General Counsel in July 2022 and helped coordinate the expansion of the Legal Services Department to support Dairyland’s legal needs and strategic initiatives.

Prior to Dairyland, Galioto served as the Assistant General Counsel and Legal Services Manager for Energy Northwest (Richland, Wash.) From 2012-2022, she provided legal counsel to executive and line management, as well as individual clients in diverse areas including litigation support and management, municipal law, nuclear regulatory compliance, exploration of new nuclear and other business opportunities, facility security/access authorization, environmental regulation, management of public records requests, and contract reviews/negotiations. This work, along with her previous roles as Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney at the Benton County Prosecutor’s Office in Kennewick, Wash., and as an insurance defense litigation associate at a Seattle law firm, prepared her well for her role at Dairyland.

Galioto earned her Bachelor of Art’s degree and a teaching certificate from Washington State University in Pullman, Wash., in 1993. Prior to law school, Galioto taught in both Washington and in Mibu-Machi, Japan.  She attended law school at Gonzaga University School of Law where she served as the Managing Editor of the Gonzaga Law Review and graduated with a Juris Doctor in May 2000.
