As a critical services provider, Dairyland is committed to delivering safe, reliable and cost-competitive electricity in the communities we serve. Our support of local communities doesn't stop there... improving the overall quality of life in the region is a major focus. Dairyland’s Contributions Committee manages an annual budget of charitable funds to be donated throughout the year. The committee meets monthly to review requests and make decisions on whether requests meet Dairyland’s guidelines. Recent support includes:

Boy Scouts of America, Gateway Area Council – Golden Eagle Gala: The Gateway Area Council serves over 1,200 youth across nine counties in Western Wisconsin and Southeastern Minnesota. This annual event helps raise funds to continue their vibrant scouting program, maintain and improve Camp Decorah, and achieve their mission to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes.

Buffalo County Natural Resources Internship Program: For 12 years, this program has provided conservation work experience to undergraduate college students and a unique opportunity to help develop and shape their professional and field skills. Through working with various agencies and professionals, students aid in research that forms the foundation for sound management decisions as well as the future of hunting/fishing and the advancement of environmental education.

WIARA Ski & Snowboarding Championships: The Wisconsin Interscholastic Alpine Racing Association hosts its Ski & Snowboarding Championships at Mt. La Crosse from Feb. 17-20. Each year, this event draws over 4,000 athletes and visitors to Mt. La Crosse, a Vernon Electric Cooperative member. Dairyland’s sponsorship helps acquire the necessary equipment and keeps registration fees affordable for all athletes in the state.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN) – Miracle Gala: The Children’s Miracle Network raises funds to support the advancement of pediatric healthcare at large, ultimately improving individual patients’ health, protecting our children’s futures and enhancing our communities. Gundersen’s Health Care CMN Miracle Gala event raises funds to support local children and families.

Winter Roots Festival: Bringing the community together to celebrate “Wisconsin Favorites” in music, cuisine, local beer and spirits. Hosted at the La Crosse Center in the Riverside Ballroom, La Crosse Winter Roots includes regional musical favorites covering genres from classic rock, Americana, country, funk, bluegrass and rock.

Contributions support community events, specific projects for charitable organizations or general donations focused in our service territory or areas in which Dairyland employees live. Organizations are mainly non-profits and donations are targeted towards organizations and services that focus on community service, education, environmental stewardship or emergency and community crisis funds.
