  • Dairyland Power's 63rd Annual Meeting Highlights (June 9, 2004)
    Nearly 700 delegates and guests attended Dairyland Power Cooperative's 63rd Annual Meeting at the La Crosse Center earlier today. Hilda Gay Legg, Administrator, Rural Utilities Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, delivered the keynote address. Legg administers a $6 billion loan and grant program for the infrastructure needs of rural America.
  • Dairyland Power's Flambeau Hydro Station Receives License (May 18, 2004)
    Dairyland Power Cooperative's Flambeau Hydroelectric Station has achieved a major milestone in its 54-year history, having recently been awarded a new facility license by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The license will expire on Jan. 31, 2037.
  • Dam Safety Awareness Week is April 24 to May 1 (April 26, 2004)
    Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle has proclaimed this week, April 24 to May 1, Dam Safety Awareness Week. Dairyland Power Cooperative joins the Midwest Hydro Users Group (HUG) and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in promoting safety awareness at dams.
  • Dairyland Power Cooperative Expands Evergreen Program (April 21, 2004)
    Dairyland Power and its member cooperatives announce the expansion of Dairyland's Evergreen renewable energy program. Evergreen renewable energy comes from wind and waste-to-energy sources such as landfill gas and livestock manure. It was created for Dairyland's electric cooperative members who distribute the renewable energy to their consumers.

  • Ice Fishermen and Snowmobilers Should Use Caution on Lake Flambeau (February 26, 2004)
    Dairyland Power Cooperative urges caution to those using Lake Flambeau for recreation activities in coming weeks. The ice becomes unstable and dangerous as spring approaches. The drawdown of Lake Flambeau has begun, according to Steve Thompson, foreperson of Dairyland Power's 22.7 megawatt Flambeau Hydroelectric Station near Ladysmith.
  • Wisconsin Public Service and Dairyland Power Sign Letter of Intent (February 16, 2004)
    Officials of Wisconsin Public Service Corporation, a subsidiary of WPS Resources Corporation (NYSE:WPS), and Dairyland Power Cooperative today announced a Letter of Intent between the two companies for electric supply alternatives for 150 megawatts of energy from the proposed 500-megawatt Weston 4 power plant near Wausau, Wis.
