Our commitment to preserving the quality of our environment is not just a program at Dairyland. It reflects a deeply held view that good environmental practices reflect sound operations and contribute to the overall economic and social health of the communities we serve.
Since we draw upon natural resources to serve our members, we have an obligation to give back to the environment and preserve it for future generations. At Dairyland, this commitment takes many forms—large and small, regulated and voluntary.
Preserving air quality
Dairyland has continued our impressive track record of controlling sulfur dioxide emissions, reductions that have totaled up to 80 percent since the early 1970s.
Our commitment to the environment can be also be measured very clearly in dollars and cents: Dairyland is investing approximately $250 million in power plant emission controls over the next few years.
